Opencast Appeal at Skons Park

Halls of Durham are appealing against a decision of Gateshead Council to refuse planning permission for an opencast scheme next to the historic Gibside Estate. This video explains how the appeal system works and the route the lorries will take if the appeal wins.

I agree with Mr Corner. I too am a Burnopfield resident and feel that as a village on the border of the council's jurisdiction Derwentside council does not do enough for Burnopfield - instead focusing on the needs of Stanley and Consett. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for comments. I will speak to our members in Burnopfield. I think they do an ocasional Focus but I will see what cross border help we can give. What holds us back in these circumstances is paying for the Focuses and having the people who can deliver them!
