Phone mast rejected

Liberal Democrats in Dunston, Gateshead, have welcomed the rejection of plans to put a phone mast on Holmside Avenue in the village.

The plan was rejected at the Council’s Planning Committee meeting on Wednesday 14th February.

Liberal Democrats handed in a petition signed by 150 residents against the plan and Dunston Councillor Peter Maughan represented the objectors at the planning meeting.

Local Liberal Democrat campaigner Michael Ruddy said, “I am pleased the campaign to defeat this plan was a success. The site was next to hundreds of houses. There are right places to put masts and there are wrong places. This was certainly a wrong place.”

Hello Johnathon does your candidate Micheal Ruddy actually live in the Dunston/Teams ward.

Anonymous said...

No he doesn't, but Jonathan won't tell you that.

Mr Ruddy lives in Bensham and Lobley Hill.

The next question is whether the B & LH Fib Dem candidate/campaigner lives in the ward?

If a candidate does not live in the ward he is fighting for. How on earth is he supposed to represent the people of that community, and understand the needs of that community. Also are the Lib/Dems trying to say that the people from Dunston/Teams are not up to their standards to be a representative of the party in that ward.

Michael lives on Victoria Road, which is split between DT and LHB. He lives in the LHB bit. So what?

As for the Labour activist hiding behind the "concerned constituent" tag, you may not wish to be reminded that 2 of the 3 Labour councillors for Dunston and Teams live in Dunston Hill and Whickham East ward. One Labour councillor for Lobley Hill and Bensham lives in Saltwell. Under the old ward boundaries, one Labour councillor in Teams, Margaret Duddin, lived in Whickham North (where she failed on a number of times to get elected before abandoning her home patch for Teams ward).

Meanwhile, the Labour candidate for Dunston Hill and Whickham East does not live there either.

As for "Jack", I have no knowledge of a "Fib Dem".

However, there is a Liberal Democrat prospective candidate for Lobley Hill and Bensham, Susan Craig. She lives in Whickham (here address is there for all to see on the thousands of letters that have been delivered from her.) She knows the ward well - her kids go to school in Lobley Hill and she is a former nurse at Bensham Hospital.

Tut, tut, Jonathan, you also forgot to mention that her husband is Peter Craig, a Fib Dem councillor in Whickham North.

You naughty boy!

Jack

Putting aside your childish term of abuse (it's a favourite with self righteous, sanctimonious Labour hypocrites), yes Susan is married to Peter Craig. Your point being?

Just filling in the gaps for you and your readers.

As for the Labour activist hiding behind the "concerned constituent" tag,

I already know that. The real question on peoples lips, is the one posted further down.

''Also are the Lib/Dems trying to say that the people from Dunston/Teams are not up to their standards to be a representative of the party in that ward?'' Another question is what do you do with all the names/addresses/e-mails you receive off all the petitions you raise. Do you use them for delivering other party news to.If so is that not breaking the data protection act to have used that persons details for anything other than what you have received them for. And do you inform each and every signee that their details may be used by the Lib/Dem party for other reasons

Yes.

But it is my business as I am one of the people whose name have appeared on one of your petitions. And I have been receiving, unsolicited mail from the Lib/Dems. And I want to know why you are sending me junk mail through my door. I signed the petition on a totally unrelated subject, and all I keep getting are political take-away food menus. Dont you realise that the trees cut down for your leaflets have to be replanted. And until they reach full maturity our atmosphere suffers. Even if you use recycled paper, the recycled paper could be put to better use than bombarding me with potential toilet paper.(I care about the ozone, every little helps).

You had the option when filling in the petition not to have the information you provided used to contact you again. You chose not to use that option.

If you don't want to continue receiving addressed letters from us, (assuming you are receiving any at all) all you have to do is ask us to remove you from the list.

However, I doubt very much you will contact us. You are a political activist. You want to receive material from us because you want to monitor what we are doing.

And in reply to your second NO you are breaking the data protection act and you know it.

Anonymous said...

And just where exactly on the petition was that option placed? Was it in a tick box next to where my name was? or was it a verbal option?. Also were people told, that they would be contacted about other campaigns and interests of the party? because I know I wasn't. People are getting sick of all the wasted paper and junk mail. Give people a break, you are turning voters away

Concernerd Constituent, certainley do's sound like a Labour Supporter? Probally one of the Local Labour Councilars! Frank D me thinks! I know for a fact Labour are terrified of the Libs potential in the Dunston and Teams wards! And other nearby wards too! Im undecided, but i definatley wont be Voting for the Labour (WAR) Party! Blair is a liabillity! Labour is all spin, and no substance!

As a resident who objects to eyesores being forced on our community without proper consultation, I would like to thank the Lib Dems for taking the lead on the issue. I signed said petition and have had only a few well written mailings from the party since.

As undecided voter has noted already, it seems that earlier comments have been written with vested interest.

A Dunston man has noted about eyesores would you be on about mobile phone masts. Yes you are right. They are an eyesore, and as I believe, through working with them, a health risk. But how on earth can a party back the proposal to take away the only real safe crossing on Lobley Hill road(footbridge), and replace it with traffic lights. We all know accidents do happen where children are involved. Kids are not taught the same road issues we were. Take it from me as a man who seen his best friend knocked down and killed, at a set of traffic lights when I was younger through no fault of his own.

Getting sick of wasted paper and junk mail? No. I appreciate the Lib Dems keeping us in touch with what they are doing. Surely that is what political campaigning is all about? Keep it up guys.

Do the Lib/Dems believe in family values?.Do the lib/Dems believe in the family unit?. This is directed to Johnothan not some flunky who he has phoned up to post on this site. And does the councillor believe that his party is free from sleaze like the other parties?

No George political campaigning is about knowing what your constituents want. Getting on the street and walking around. Not sending out some flier, and asking people what they want, knowing fine well you only have to do a tiny amount. Ask the Lib/Dem councillor what the Lib/Dem stance is on immigration. Ask the Man his stance on teaching homosexual acts to children in school is. Not pro-creation is it. And no I am not homophobic before you say.

Thanks for the dosh Jonathan, We get those leaflets out wink wink

Not one person, even the concillor in this blog has answered the questions I have put properly. Is this what the people of Gateshead have to look forward to under a Lib/Dem council. Here is one question I expect answered by the councillor. DO THE LIB/DEMS SUPPORT GOOD LOCAL EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN? I await your reply with anticipation. (look at Newcastle)

Me and my mate Bobby Blatchford are interested in becoming councillors. Any tips from anyone? We would term ourselves as populist nationalists cos we have no understanding or political philosophy, not to mention personal integrity. I even had the cheek to try to keep open a local school, yards from my house. I never bothered to share that I don't send my kids there. Hey-ho.
We'd also like to know who lamped our leader in Horsham last night.

Clasper Village idiot seems to support violence against people whose opinions he doesn't like.

He doesn't like working class people making a difference in their own neighbourhood.

I smell a cynical middle class trot.

Care to confirm that CVI?
